Zachery Ty Bryanthe ex-girlfriend of Johnny Cartwrighthas been convicted after being accused of trying to run over the home improvement actor with his truck in November.
Cartwright pleaded guilty to DUI and reckless driving, both misdemeanors, in an Oregon courtroom on Wednesday, Jan. 14, according to audio hearing obtained exclusively by Us Weekly.
An additional charge of recklessly endangering another person was dismissed.
Cartwright received 24 months of probation for each of the two guilty pleas and was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine. Your license has been suspended for one year and you must comply with the ignition interlock device requirement once you get back behind the wheel, we can reveal

In addition to his fine, he must pay a DUI conviction fee of $255.
Cartwright was warned that she cannot possess or consume alcohol, nor visit any place where alcohol is the main product being kept or sold.
During the hearing, Cartwright’s attorney told the judge that Bryan, 44, is his “ex-partner,” on whom he is financially dependent. (The two share three children).
Cartwright will pay $50 a month starting March 1 for his DUI fine and fee.

“Deputies learned that Zachery Ty Bryan, 44, of Eugene, was in a pickup truck with Johnnie Faye Cartwright, 32, of Eugene, and their three young children. They were driving in the area together,” the Lane County Sheriff’s Office confirmed at the time.
The statement noted that Bryan got out of the truck at some point and began walking down the road. “Cartwright then attempted to run over Bryan, crashing the truck with the children inside into the ditch,” the statement continued. “Bryan was able to move out of the way and avoid injury. No one in the pickup was injured.”

Bryan was arrested for allegedly violating probation as a result of a prior assault conviction and was released from police custody on December 10, 2025.
Cartwright was released from prison on December 3, 2025, but was found back in the slammer days later for violating his provisional freedom.
During her sentence, the prosecution shed light on what allegedly happened between her and the home improvement star that led to his arrest.
The eyewitness stated that he saw a man (Bryan) on the side of the road and Cartwright behind the wheel.

“He saw the truck drive toward the man on the side of the road and he hid an embankment as the man on the side of the road went up the hill, away from the truck,” the prosecutor said in court audio, noting there were three children in the vehicle. “The reporting party called 911 and the defendant yelled at her that everyone’s lives were ruined and accused him of trying to take her children.”
Cartwright’s lawyer informed the judge that his client was “extremely sorry” for the incident.
“He lives with his mother and is still able to have custody of the children. He is looking forward to continuing the progress he has been able to make while on a free trial,” his lawyer said. “He is also not drinking alcohol at this time, so he wants to continue his sobriety.”
When the judge asked Cartwright what she wanted to say before sentencing, she replied: “I guess divine intervention. I’m just here to take responsibility, and everything happens for a reason. Me and the girls are doing great, and I’m just hoping to continue to keep the separation from the father.”
