YouTube skips the first recap video you’ve watched

It’s that time of the year when companies roll around with recaps that are packaged in a hurry-like way, to get users started on the content they’re doing. While YouTube has offered YouTube music recaps for the past few years, the platform announced Tuesday has now launched a separate experience for videos watched on its main service.

YouTube RECAP Features up to 12 personalized cards that highlight users’ top channels, interests, evolution of viewing habits, and personality type assignments based on viewer preferences.

For example, “Skill Developer” personality types are users who are drawn to content that helps develop skills, while “Sunshine” gravitates toward content that spreads positivity. “Trailblazers” watch content that is original and challenges the norm.

Other personality types include “Heaver,” “connector,” and “dreamer,” among others.

Users will also be able to see the top artists and songs of the year, but can get a deeper insight in the YouTube Music app with the annual YouTube music recap, which started playing last week.
