To the south of the city of Gaza, along the maritime road next to the Mediterranean, young Palestine people are temporarily producing plastic in the burner.
With limited access to commercial fuel, they collect plastic waste, processes in metal drums to remove crude fuel, and then sell bottles and to those traveling.
This work is revealed in the open air, where the black smoke from the burner bills and binds it to the side of the road. This area is drawn with small tents where young people have stored materials and rest during the shift. Horse-collapsed trains and pedestrians regularly stretch the smoke and move between the north and southern Gaza.
Most of the people involved in the trade are displaced and they have some other sources of income. The fuel they produce is used locally, often sold for generators or transportation and at a lower price than commercial options.
Although the process is simple, it includes many hours and fog and open flames. For these young people, it has become a way of making money and supporting their families in a difficult and unstable environment.
