Witney Carson feels validated after sharing son’s flight embarrassment

Dancing with the stars pro Whitney Carson is glad to have publicly shared that her two-year-old son embarrassed herself on a recent long-haul flight.

leading to her Instagram stories late Sunday, Jan. 25, Carson, 32, declared that she felt “very validated” after revealing that her young son, Jet, was told to be quiet several times during her family’s return to the United States from Australia. (Carson lives in Florida when he’s not filming DWTS.)

“Looks like I’ve gotten to the right side of Instagram,” Carson, who shares two sons, Jet and Leo, 5, with husband, Carson McAllistershe wrote about a photo of her giving a thumbs up while sitting on another flight. “I feel so validated. Thank you for letting me out.”

He concluded the message with, “Let’s ride into the dawn,” to suggest a unified fan condemnation of his son’s embarrassment.

The reality TV star, who won season 34 of DWTS with partner Robert Irwinwho lives in Australia, followed the post with a photo of Jet presumably sleeping in a chair between flights. “Baby angel!!!! Almost there baby,” Carson wrote of the photo.

Carson, who ran into Irwin, 22, during the family’s trip, alerted followers to her son’s experience via an Instagram story shared earlier Sunday. “Question for you, and be honest: is it appropriate to ask a child to be quiet for the entire 13-hour flight?” she put “(My son) Jet was playing and laughing with me and we were asked to be quiet because a man in front said he was trying to rest.”

She continued: “I totally understand if there has to be a certain time we have to sleep, but it’s in the middle of the day. I’m a big believer in, ‘Worry about the things that are in your control and put in some earplugs.’ Am I crazy?”

A second Instagram story detailed that a flight attendant “kept shutting Jet up” prompting Carson to get out of his chair to take action. “I got up and asked (the flight attendant) if there were certain times during the flight that we had to be quiet and we would respect that,” Carson wrote. “If not, I don’t expect my kids to sit quietly for 13 hours. Okay, bye, I’m done.”

Fans were quick to share their support for Carson and his family in the hours that followed, with many commenting directly on Us Weekly‘s Instagram news report. “Wow, I can’t believe the flight attendant got involved!! Horrible! That’s what headphones are for!” one follower wrote, while another commented: “I think the fact that your son made it through without a major meltdown after 13 hours is a win. Clearly shushers don’t have kids.”

Witney Carson is feeling all the love after winning Season 34 of Dancing With the Stars with partner Robert Irwin. “Carson (McAllister) and my friends surprised me with a welcome home party and I feel SO HAPPY!!! It meant a lot to me to celebrate with them,” Witney, 32, wrote via her Instagram story on Saturday (…)

Carson had been documenting his family’s visit to Australia via social media in the previous weeks. In one particularly adorable post, Carson and his clan were spotted visiting Irwin’s Australia Zoo, located on Sunshine Coast, Queensland, where the family donned Irwin’s khaki shirt to show their love for wildlife conservation.

“The gang’s back together,” Carson captioned the carousel, which included videos and photos of his family bonding with lemurs, a giraffe and a snake (in a glass cage).

Carson has been a target for critical moms in the past. She said it exclusively Us Weekly in February 2021, before Jet was born, “I mostly get positive things and it’s amazing, but (I get) one or two negative comments like, ‘You shouldn’t do this to your baby.’ You should not hold your baby this way. You should not let your baby sleep like this.

He then continued: “Little things like that…I haven’t (answered) until now, but if someone were to comment on Leo, I think my mama bear would (come out).”
