Ramon Rodríguez revealed if ABC’s Will Trent plans to enter Sara Linton of Karin Slaughter’book series
“I know how popular Karin Slaughter’s books are and these theories,” Rodriguez said exclusively. Us Weekly. “It’s something we talk about often with our program.”
Rodríguez he didn’t rule out Will Trent finding a way to bring the fictional character to life, adding, “If and when do we bring such a big character into our world? Our world is already pretty full — we already have a lot of characters and there’s a lot going on.”
He continued, “But we also know that this is something that fans love and want, especially those who were really obsessed with the books … Rachel McAdams would be so much fun (in the role).”
Based on the Slaughter book franchise, Will Trent follows a Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agent who was abandoned at birth and grew up in Atlanta’s overcrowded foster care system. Will now relies on his unique perspective as he pursues justice, leading to the highest clearance rate at the GBI.

Will has been in one relationship with and outside Angie (Erika Christensen) since Season 1, but have since been dropped for good. He briefly explored a romance with Marion (Gina Rodriguez) but it was too soon for Will.
In the book version, Will ends up with Sara, who is a pediatrician and coroner. She became his main love interest after his breakup with Angie. The fictional couple married at Slaughter’s That’s why we lied.
season 4, which was released earlier this month, offered we a new vision of Will who is exploring his anger.
“It’s something that we haven’t really seen too much of him. For someone with such a history-laden past, for the first time he’s really going into therapy. Then a lot of things start to come out of him. So we were very interested and intrigued by the idea of someone breaking down and taking the hood off of himself to see what it said,” he said. we. “The therapy process, I’ve been through it and it’s interesting what comes up. It can be good or it can be complicated. It can trigger things.”
Rodriguez promised viewers would see a new face of Willadding: “For someone like Will who really didn’t take long to do that, given what he’s been through, he’s always moving forward and focusing on his work. He’s staying busy because those have been some of his coping mechanisms and now he’s finally meeting a therapist who’s a little unconventional where his tactics can be a little weird. But I think someone like Will needs that.”
He concluded, “I love that we took what we’ve seen a million times before in movies and shows, which is therapy, and we said, ‘How can we make it really different and give it the Will Trent twist that we’re trying to do?’ I loved it.”
Will Trent airs on ABC on Tuesdays at 8 pm ET before streaming the next day on Hulu.
