ancient Whose line is it anyway? star Wayne Brady is revealing how her sexuality affects her parenting.
“I feel lighter, because it’s me,” Brady, 53, he said people in an interview published on Saturday, January 17. “It allows me to be a better actor. It allows me to be a better performer on stage. It allows me to be a better parent. It allows me to be a better partner to somebody someday. I’m happier, I’m brighter.”

“After Robin died, I got involved in certain groups, like now Glenn Closethe Bring Change to Mind group, being very vocal about mental health,” she said people at that time. “Once I opened that door for myself, I had to start learning about myself and I had to start coming to terms with things that I may have repressed, shocked, or just didn’t want to deal with.”
He explained: “I gave joy at work. But the pity is that I come home, and I don’t have that joy. I have joy because I love my daughter and I love my family. I like being a father more than chocolate ice cream. But that can’t be my only joy. I have to love myself. And that’s when I realized that I had a problem because if I can spend everything on stage, what is love?”
A year later, speaking exclusively Us Weekly at the Advocate + Out Pride cover launch party, that she no longer cared what people thought when it came to her sexuality.
“I don’t care anymore,” Brady said we in June 2024. “I’m no longer ashamed or afraid of blackmail, and that’s the most important thing.”

“I had to research and figure out what it was that I am,” he said people while walking the red carpet. “The biggest misconception, and I’m even making a joke about it on stage tonight, is that people think you’re an undecided bisexual. No, you’re not. Let me set the record straight.”
He continued: “What the definition basically boils down to is, regardless of gender, regardless. That means I’m happily free to fall in love with anyone here. If you’re gay, if you’re straight, if you’re non-binary, trans, I don’t care. It’s the person, who in my mind is the ultimate in acceptance and love.”
Brady’s ex, Taketa, was very supportive after Brady’s self-discovery.
“I just said, ‘Great.’ How I knew coming out would help him be happier,” she said of her ex’s sexuality in August 2023. “I just said, ‘Okay.'”
In Saturday’s interview, Brady further explained why it’s so important to him to continue to be open and honest about his sexuality.
“I’m a believer in trying to help the next generation,” he said people. “And I think if there’s any black (or) brown kid growing up in any city, in any city in America, (who) feels bad about themselves or ashamed of themselves or less, I hope if they see me, and if they’re familiar with me, like, ‘Oh, that’s Wayne. And what did he just say? Maybe I can be verbal to myself.'”
