Vinciquerra agreed that the situation was “ugly.” Rothman then compared Lively’s reaction to public criticism Anne Hathaway faced years ago.

“I guess she’s an ugly reflection of society — she has so much (looks, money, fame, husband, kids, etc.) that the crowd’s instinct is to tear her down,” Rothman wrote. “Like what happened to Anne Hathaway and none of them deserve it, even though she took it all by refusing to listen to advice… and selling her products.”
