Dax Shepard detailed why he couldn’t help but feel “sad” after not taking home the first Best Podcast Golden Globe award

Leading to Instagram following the ceremony on Sunday, January 11, the “Armchair Expert” co-host shared a screenshot of a text exchange with one of his daughters detailing his post-event thoughts. “You know, the only reason I’m sad I didn’t win is because I wanted to get on stage and tell the whole world how much I love you and your sister,” Shepard, 51, texted her daughter. (Shepard shares two daughters, Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11, with his wife Kristen Bell.)

The emotional response came after her daughter wrote about her glamorous appearance in 2026 Golden Globe Awards“You’re so cute dad,” followed by “Your dress is stunning.” Shepard, who lost the award Amy Poehler and his work on “Good Hang,” offered more perspective within the screenshot’s caption. “I won tonight. And every night,” he wrote.

Several famous friends liked Shepard’s post, including nina dobrev, Joey King i Meghann Fahywhile many fans commented on her parenting style. “There’s something special when a child reaches the age where they can send you sweet texts like this,” one person wrote, while another wrote: “There’s nothing better than the huge love between a child and a parent.”

Shepard and Bell, who married in October 2013, arrived arm in arm at the event held inside the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, clearly putting a recent awkward joint “Armchair Expert” interview with a guest star Cher behind them Monday’s January 5 episode saw Shepard ask the music icon who she thought would be Bell’s “dream partner” because she believed Cher thought she “could do better” than him.

The episode also made headlines after Shepard revealed that she recently promised Delta that she would support any future requests to freeze your eggs. “Delta was saying she can’t wait to have a baby,” she said during the podcast, which is hosted by Monica Padman. “I said, ‘When do you think you’re going to have your first child, when you’re 18?’ I want to support anything. I said, “If you want, we’ll freeze your eggs when you’re 18.” I’ll pay to have your eggs frozen so you don’t have to think about it.”
