“We regret to inform you that our upcoming shows will be postponed due to a medical situation involving Colin Mochrie,” read a statement from “The Hyprov Team”.
His message continued: “Colin has been diagnosed with a detached retina and will undergo emergency eye surgery today. His medical team are optimistic about his full recovery but he needs time to rest and heal.”
The post said the show was “working to reschedule” the Canadian’s postponed appearances at the OLG Stage in Niagara Falls, Ont., on Jan. 2 and Saturday, Jan. 3. Ticket holders who are unable to attend the rescheduled performances will be entitled to a refund.
“Colin is incredibly grateful for your support and well wishes,” the note read. “He looks forward to returning to the stage and sharing many more laughs with you all in the near future.”
Mochrie’s fans left messages of support in the comments section.
“Colin is a national treasure. I hope things go well,” one fan wrote, while another commented: “Lots of love and a speedy recovery to Colin…thanks for being honest, otherwise we’d be more worried about his condition…❤️”
