Who does Morena Baccarin’s Mickey sleep with in the sex scene in Sheriff Country

Sheriff Country has already teased a steamy scene with Morena BaccarinMickey Fox’s character, but who is the mystery man?

After the official trailer showed Mickey in the shower with a possible love interest, showrunner Matt Lopez explained exclusively Us Weekly about the scene, saying, “It’s a character that will remain nameless at this point. But I will say that this is a character that will surprise us the moment it happens on screen.”

Lopez noted that “there will be multiple surprises” he directed us.

“It’s a relationship that’s really compelling. Because what we’re going to unpack about Mickey is that since her divorce from Travis, her relationships have been few and far between,” she explained. “This character, this mystery, aka the man in the shower and his relationship, starts off as one thing and then has the promise of being something much, much deeper, if Mickey allows it.”

Mickey’s love life won’t come without obstacles, with Lopez adding, “He’s a character that has a little bit of armor. He’s a character that has put his trust in people and they’ve betrayed that trust. He doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve and jump in both feet first.”

Lopez concluded, “Is she wary and can she leave her heart unattended long enough to have a chance to do something? Something deeply meaningful. That’s a question that’s going to come up a lot on screen.”

After is being entered Country of FireBaccarin, 46, stars as Sheriff Mickey Fox on Sheriff Country. The spin-off, which premiered earlier this month, focuses on Mickey as she investigates criminal activity and patrols the streets of her small town while dealing with her ex-father and becoming caught up in a murder where her daughter is the prime suspect.

“The mystery won’t last the whole season. It will apparently be solved, but there will be ongoing ripple effects and twists going into the season,” Lopez told Us while promising “delicious plot twists” moving forward. “When you think something’s been put to bed or understood a certain way, we’re going to ask the audience to possibly reconsider whether what you saw the first time is really what you saw. So we love that kind of storytelling.”

Even though the stakes are so high, Lopez implied that viewers they shouldn’t worry too much because their favorite characters are in grave danger.

“In the context of Fire Country, it would kind of dishonor the danger that these characters put themselves in the literal line of fire, and in the case of Sheriff Country in the metaphorical line of fire,” he said. “Telling one story after another where they emerge from these death-defying situations completely unscathed is not true to the narrative.”

Lopez added, “There has to be real stakes in these episodes. We have some plans to put some of these people in really stressful situations, but I’m not unpacking the body bags yet. It’s too early for that.”

Sheriff Country airs Fridays on CBS at 8:00 PM ET.
