Kate later cares after Claire disappears from the farm. When Kate is looking for Claire, he finds her shocking with Ryan, revealing that she was not really dead. After Drug Kate, Jackie tells him his master plan to burn the barn for money with insurance. She ends up doing it, just to be questioned by the police about the human remains found on the property. Police also question Jackie.
It is revealed that Kate planted Greg’s dead body in the barn before burning. He also intentionally left behind a piece of the flare of the road Jackie bought to burn the house. Police eventually concluded that Greg died by Jackie’s drugs, and Jackie ended up illuminating the house to have the tests.
Ultimately, Jackie is charged with the crime and Kate walks free. At the end of the movie, Claire returns to the farm after Kate hires a crew to clean the ashes of the fire.
