“Trust once it’s killed, it usually can’t be resurrected,” Kody, 56, told the host She likes Krishnan during part 4 of the Sister Wives: 1 vs 1 special that was broadcast on Sunday, February 1.

Kody went on to call the betrayal “an illusion” after splitting from the exes Christine Brown, Janelle Brown i Mary Brown in 2021, 2022 and 2023, respectively.

He confessed, “When I’ve worked this out long enough, this idea that the illusion of betrayal in divorce or the illusion of betrayal in relationships, maybe I’ll be okay. But I’m not there yet.”

Kody visited previously all his ex-wives during season 20 of the TLC series to apologize for the end of their respective relationships and how he publicly handled the massive breakups. While Janelle’s apology went off without a hitch, Kody’s proclamation that he “loved” Christine, 53, before their split. he doesn’t feel good with her or her new husband, David Woolley.

Meri, 55, also had a tough talk with Kody after she started bringing her friends and their alleged gossip about him into the discussion.

“I want all the hurt to end. I want everyone to move on. I want everyone to feel free and I’m going to move on with forgiveness,” Kody said during Sunday’s reunion special, noting he was ready for closure.

Meri was Kody’s first wife, she married him in 1990. They legally divorced in 2014, allowing Kody to marry Robyn, 47, and adopt his three children from a previous marriage. Meri and Kody remained in a spiritual relationship until they announced in a joint statement in January 2023 that they had separated.

during season 20 of Sister WivesKody and Meri argued about their friends, BFF Jen in particular, and allegedly hitting on him over the years. While Kody claimed during Sunday’s reunion that he thought Jen “maybe” influenced Meri to leave him with her advice, he vowed not to “talk to” her anymore.

Kody told Krishnan that he and Meri are “definitely friendly” after all the drama.

“I told him, ‘Let’s be nice. We don’t do that,” Meri said Sunday of her mindset toward Kody. “And if he and Robyn want to have a relationship with me and want to move forward from here and be kind, I’d be open to that.”

Meri also applauded Kody for his apology tour, saying, “I love that he did it.” She shared that she’s “really happy” in her own life, and while Meri said Kody made the “apologies she felt necessary,” she doesn’t “owe” him “nothing” at this point.

When it comes to the future between her and Kody, as well as her ex-sister wives, Meri added, “I’d honestly, honestly, I’d like to be in a place where I could have conversations with each of them and be good. I don’t have to trust them with my life. It doesn’t have to be that, but to be in a place that’s comfortable and where we can never go so we can ever go. eye to eye.”

Janelle confirmed during the Sister Wives: 1 vs 1 especially since she and Kody had remained on good terms since he apologized to North Carolina at the beginning of the season.

“I thought it was really nice. I felt sincerity about it. And there were some things like especially the first few years that really healed me. I think it was great,” Janelle explained, noting that it could spark something in the rest.

He added: “Maybe there will be more peace between all the adults. I think there was some kind of karmic thing that got put to bed.”

Christine was the third wife who married Kody in 1994. She was the first to leave him, announcing their split in November 2021. “I’ve changed a lot. I’m a different person now,” Christine said Sunday, noting that she didn’t think there was anything left for her or her ex to apologize for.

Christine concluded, “I’m just moving forward. I hope all of them are too. … Just let it go and let’s move on. Let’s just think (about) what we’re going to do to build from here. And let’s realize that we all said and did things that, you know, let’s just leave it as it is because you can’t fix it.”

Throughout the meeting, Kody supported his wife Robyn: whom he legally married in 2014 after marrying her spiritually in 2010 as she was criticized by her exes for various reasons. When Meri and Christine claimed they were valid reasons not to “trust” Robynclaiming that he would talk to Kody and use his words against them, Kody claimed that he was being made a “scapegoat”.

Robyn, meanwhile, stood her ground and insisted that there was no reason for Meri to be mean to her or suspicious of her after years of friendship. While she didn’t exactly make amends with any of her former female sisters, Robyn was still in Kody’s corner when the tape wrapped.

“I think I’m fine,” Robyn said on Sunday’s episode when asked if I needed an apology of Meri, Janelle or Christine at this time. “Forgiveness is a very personal experience and journey. It’s not so much about the other person, it’s about yourself.”
