The company has added a new section to address “AI Providers” in its business-to-business business, which focuses on Chatbots-General Purpose. Meta says that new chatbot use cases that put a lot of load on the system with an increased volume of messages and require different support, which are now ready. The company prohibits use cases that fall outside the “intended design and strategic intent” of the API.
The move will effectively make WhatsApp unavailable as a platform for deploying AI solutions like assistants or agents. It also means that Meta AI is the only assistant available in the chat app.
