The premiere episode, entitled “Tell Me Sweet Little Lies”, introduced Beechwood Island of the Sinclair family on the coast of the vineyard of Martha. Narrator cadence (Emily Alyn Lind) It acts as the line of the show for the spectators, explaining who is who and the promise of something sinister that appears when half -stripped on the beach in an opening scene.
“Something terrible happened last summer and I have no memory of what or who hurt me,” says Cadence. “No one in my family will tell me, if they even talk to me. Maybe they fear that the truth will destroy me, or maybe it will destroy them first. When I leave you dead, you want answers. I am determined to achieve -my.”
The show really starts with Cadence and his cousins Johnny (Joseph Ass) and mirren (Esther McGregor) Generate for a complete family photo during summer 16 and offers a significant suggestion to family dynamics. The Patriarch and Matriarca de Sinclair built four houses on the island, each of which is inhabited by one of his three daughters and their respective families: Penny (Caitlin Fitzgerald), Who is the mother of cadence, bess (King Candice), Who is the mother and Carrie of Mirren (Mamie gummer), Who is Johnny’s mother. A flashback shows the moment that cadence and cat meet for the first time during summer 8, planting the seed of their eventual love story. The scene also allows viewers to see how cadence, cat, Mirren and Johnny formed their crew: liars.
In summer 16, there is an obvious tension between cadence and cat, especially after she states that she is “different” this year compared to others. Johnny, meanwhile, connects with his tennis doubles partner and seeks to participate in what Carrie refers to “Cruise Booze” parked on the Beechwood coast. (Both are changes in the book.)
While Johnny plans her great night, Cadence invites cat to see a meteorite shower with her on the beach. Johnny and Mirren, apparently, indicating that they do not want Cadence and Gat together, convince them to all who arrived at the party boat. After Johnny mocked Cadence to put the lipstick, and forces the cat to turn around, becomes a hassle. Gat finally swims again on the coast, reveals his feelings for the cadence and kissing each other.

Throughout the episode, viewers also take a look at the life of the respective mothers of liars, another significant change in the novel. Penny is going through a divorce and makes too much jokes, while Carrie seems to be fine for at least for the moment. Bess, meanwhile, is spiral because her husband has not yet arrived on the island. So she makes her traps with Salty Dan (Tim Roson), the repairman of the boat and they look at them see them having sex.
Intercated between the respective liars (and adults), the viewers also left the night cadence on the beach, but there are still no answers. However, it is revealed that any incident that is left by death by death occurs two months after the events of the We were liar Episode Premiere.
“For a long time, that night was the last thing I remembered from summer 16. Cat and I, trapped in the idyll of our own perfect fairy tale on Beechwood Island, where the summers were sandcasts and lemonade,” says Cadence. “No one was a criminal, no one was addicted, no one was needed and no one was a failure. We were happy, we wanted anything. But it is important to remember -we were liars.”
