“We need a stabilized, democratic Syria: economic recovery without freedom is meaningless”

François Picard is pleased to welcome Kurdish humanitarian activist Ariya Dzemo to the midst of the rapidly changing socio-political and economic dynamics in Syria. Mr. Jemo shares the themes of political betrayal, territorial control, ideological conflict and international disengagement. It deals with loss, resistance and resilience. In essence, his report portrays the Syrian struggle not only as a battle over land or power, but also as a clash of opposing visions, democratic pluralism versus extremist dominance, with serious implications for regional stability and global security.
