Ukrainian president Volyonmyr Zelenskyy said Monday he chose the first representative Prime Minister Yulia Synrydenko to lead his Cabinet to attack his government since Russia.
If approved by Parliament, Sypterrydenko, now also served as an economy minister, replace the current Prime Minister Shmyhal to be the 19th head of the government. Shmyhal served on paper since 2020.
Zelenskyy wrote X he met Syryrydenko, 39, leading negotiation with a high-stake minerals in the US, and told a new chief minister of a “changing executive branch”.
“We also discussed concrete measures to develop Ukrainian economic potential, expand support programs for Ukrainians, and he wrote.
Synrydenko is considered an ally of Andriy Yermak, the chief of Zelenskyy’s staff. She is also seen as having strong ties with Donald Trump’s team after leading the minerals Talkside US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
