WordPress experiment AI development tools, Telexhave been used to real-life use, just months after September’s debutSee rank-. In the company’s annual “State of the word“Tuesday’s event at the San Francisco Project Project and CEO Autt Mullenweg showed several examples of how many hours of business are used in retail stores, among other examples.
TELEX, which Mullenweg started before as “v0 or loved, but is dedicated to testing the platform platform to build its own vibe-coding tools for the AI era. The software allows developers to generate gutienberg blocks – modular bits of text, images, columns, etc. – that make up a WordPress website.
While the software is still labeled as experimental, mulenweg can demonstrate some real-world examples that have been built by Community CREATOR CREATOR Nick Hamze.
In the first example, Mulenweg shows a price comparison tool built with belex, which notes that rich web elements, which used to be custom built, can now be created in seconds.
In another demo, a developer used TELLE to add real-time store hours, a phone number, and a link to get directions to the block header of a WordPress site.
TELEX is also shown which is used to create a carousel of partner logos on the business site, a special calendar tool, Google calendar integration, and a box for posting on each postcard on the same site.
“Again, things that used to have to, like developers, create custom software like this would cost thousands, tens of thousands of dollars to build, even years ago. “It’s kind of crazy.”

Another developer, Tammie Lister, used TELEX to create a new Gutenberg block every day in Octobermake things playable, The ASCII version of TETRIS and a Trick-or-Treating Blocks For Halloween.
Telex findings are discussed together with other initiatives in WordPress, including architectural development, like the API adapter and the MCP Adapter. The former defines what WordPress can do with the way AI systems can be tracked, the company said explainedwhile the latter exposes the ability to do so mcP compatible tools can understand and use.
“This adapter pattern means that WordPress can participate in the workflow without duplicating or creating separate integrations for each AI platform,” says Mullenweg. “So you can now connect your WordPress installation to popular tools like Claude, Copilot, and many other platforms that support MCP.”
In addition, he notes that developers are already using AI in their everyday workflows through tools like cursors, Claude code, and next-generation clichés. This, says mulenlweg, “means you can re-project, code base search, automated tasks, (and) run scripts with wp cli next to AI agents.”
Mullenweg said that in 2026, WordPress will introduce several benchmarks that can be used for AI models, such as uploading plugins, editing text, or even manipulating the WordPress interface using browser agents.
