According to The Washington Post, US forces launched a follow-up attack on a suspected Venezuelan drug ship in September after two survivors of the initial attack were seen clinging to the burning vessel. The report said US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered troops to “kill everyone” on the ship – a claim Hegseth dismissed as “fake news”.
