Uvir’s economy is at a standstill amid clashes between DRC forces and M23 rebels




In Uvira, in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, the conflict has severely affected the local economy. In mid-December, the border with neighboring Burundi was closed after M23 rebels seized the town. Small businesses are at a standstill and prices have exploded.
