The Supreme Court has blocked Trump’s emergency tariffs, but he plans to introduce other legislation to maintain and increase rates.

US President Donald Trump reprimanded America Supreme Court After the 6-3 decision it downgraded its broad global tariffs as “humiliated”, saying it would maintain the tariffs in an alternative way.
Despite the Supreme Court’s decision, the President announced on Friday that he would impose a 10 percent global tariff for 150 days in place of some of the emergency tariffs struck down by the court.

These charges will be higher than the existing tariffs, especially the zonal tariffs on steel, aluminium, auto parts and some others. The new 10 percent rate will take effect in about three days.
Trump called the court’s liberal justices “a disgrace to our nation” and blasted the conservatives who sided with them as “unpatriotic and unfaithful” to the US Constitution.
In a 6-3 decision, the court ruled that Trump could not use emergency powers to impose massive tariffs on imports from countries around the world without the consent of Congress.
But the US president has argued that he has found a loophole to keep the levy in place and raise it to 10 percent – relying on other existing laws that give him authority over trade.
“To protect our country, a president can impose higher tariffs than I have in the past year under various tariff authorities,” Trump said.
“So we can use other laws, other tariff authorities, which are also confirmed and fully allowed.”
