Unknown: A Filmmaker’s Search for a Missing Connection | Arts and Culture

Simplice Gano, a filmmaker from Burkina Faso, spends his time documenting people and relationships, but when he travels to Winterthur, Switzerland, he faces a new challenge: no one wants to talk to him. Struggling to make connections, he faces a question many documentary filmmakers know well: How do you film people who don’t want to be involved?

Through humor, vulnerability, and persistence, Ganou finds a creative way to break through. But will that be enough?

The Unknown is a short film by Simplis Hermann Ganau.
