Federal agents in the United States have shot two people dead in Portland, Oregon, a city where President Donald Trump’s administration has led an immigration enforcement crackdown.
On Thursday, the local bureau of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed on social media that the shooting happened near Portland’s Main Street around 2:15 p.m. local time.

Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents were involved in the shootout and two people were injured in the shootout.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation led by the FBI,” the Portland FBI bureau said in a now-deleted post.
Portland Police Chief Bob Day also issued a statement calling for calm. The shooting comes a day after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed 37-year-old mother Renee Nicole Good as she was moving her car in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“We are still in the early stages of this incident,” Day said in a statement.
“We understand the emotion and stress many feel in the wake of the shooting in Minneapolis, but I’m asking the community to remain calm as we work to learn more.”
Earlier in the day, Portland Mayor Keith Wilson expressed solidarity with Minneapolis following Goode’s death.
“Portland stands with you, Minnesota. I warned Homeland Security leadership that their actions created a disaster. Yesterday’s horrific loss is a direct result of ignoring that warning,” Wilson said in a statement.
“Elected officials cannot sit by while constitutional protections are eroded and bloodshed. ICE agents and their Homeland Security leadership must be fully investigated and held accountable for the violence against Americans in Minnesota, Portland and across the country.”
This is a breaking news. More details to come.
