Two U.S. soldiers and a local translator were killed in central Syria on Saturday after a suspected Islamic State gunman opened fire on a joint U.S.-Syrian patrol in Palmyra, U.S. Central Command said. Three other soldiers were wounded before the attacker was killed by partner forces.
