The White House has paused immigration requests for people from 19 countries and plans to put additional controls on immigrants from those countries already in the US, according to a memo released Tuesday. Under the new rules, immigrants from “high-risk” countries who entered the U.S. during the Biden administration will be subject to a comprehensive review of their claims for benefits.
