US President Donald said he received a letter from Volyonmymer Zelensky agreement to “go to the negotiation table” to strike a agreement with Ukraine in Ukraine.
“I appreciated that he sent this letter,” Trump said as he spoke of a joint session in Washington Congress.
It came after Zelensky said to a social media post he was willing to work under the “strong leadership of Trump to achieve a lasting peace.
The statements showed a cooling of tensions between leaders who followed their burning meeting at the Oval Office last week.
In his congressional talk, Trump said he received a “important letter” from Zelensky on Thursday, before reading his remarks were the limitations from it.
Parts of his reading used exactly the same language as Statement posted in Zelensky earlier on Tuesday.
“The letter read Ukraine is willing to go to the negotiation table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace. Nothing in peace with Ukrainians,” Trump said.
It continues to read from his said letter of Zelensky, Trump said: “My team is preparing to work under the strong leadership of President Trump to last.”
Trump also said Zelensky told him he was ready Signing a unique mineral land in the US.
Ukraine has never commented on the letter.
The US president also said that there was a “serious discussion” in Russia, and he “received strong signals that they were prepared for peace”.
Trump did not let the talks happen, or if he was personally involved.
“It’s time to finish the unconscious battle. If you want to end wars, you should talk on both sides,” he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Zelensky described the White House Showdown with Trump as “Sorcetable” to give up the US announcing Aid Aid in Kyiv.
Zelensky said “It’s time to make things right”, after Trump accused him not ready to go to the negotiation table.
