South Africa, Eswatini and Zambia have started giving Lenacapavir, a revolutionary new injection to prevent HIV, in the first public sale of the drug in Africa, which has the highest HIV burden in the world. It has been shown to reduce the risk of HIV transmission by more than 99.9 percent, making it similar to a powerful vaccine.
