The head of transportation for London is calling for a long-term fundary deal from the UK government to replace 50-year-old train trains and stop roads and rails.
Andy told the finance of the finance he wrote to Raquel Reeves to request a financial settlement for up to five years to use TFL projects in June.
London transport authority – running underground networks, as well as some overage trains and many major roads – mixed with six low conservative governments.
“You cannot operate the largest integrated public transport authority without a long-term capital settlement capital, in my view,” says the Lord in an interview.

One of the most urgent priorities in TFL is to replace 53-year-old trains running on the underwear’s underground, the oldest carriages in the UK service.
The Lord warned that the line became more unreliable while authority struggled to maintain trains built in the 1970s.
“Someone comes a point in time where we can’t do enough trains to run a trusted service, and that’s the knock of the consequences,” he said. “We keep keeping it running as much as possible, but reality is that it will be more expensive and less reliable.”
TFL is on track to achieve an “operating over” for the second consecutive financial year, in the impact sense to pay for its own operations. But it needs government money for important capital expenditure to replace trains, change or open new infrastructure.

The body is given £ 485mmm by the October Budget for capital expenditure of 2025-26 financial year, but there is no obvious in funding it ahead.
The Lord compares TFL’s financial particle to other transportation transportation such as the state network, the operator owned by the British train paths, responsible for British paths. They are given budgets in five years cycles.
But in public finances acting on a Less than expected over January and pressure to find a lot of money for defense, the reeves are facing a more difficult spending backdrop.
Lord, TFL commissioner since 2022, refused to say what he asked for. But he warns the “danger” that the transport network shares will be less reliable without new money.

The severe destruction of the center of the underwater line is the result of the previous tory government that does not fully assemble a maintenance program, the Lord says.
He added that some of the main roads run by TFL, including Brent Cross Flyover in North London, need urgent recovery.
“We have restrictions on many core road arteries in the minute, where it has a direct effect (in traffic),” he said.
TFL commanded 94 new trains from German’s industrialized surprised by the Siemener for the Piccadilly line. They are due to enter service next year.
The Lord states to want to put in a follow-on order for new trains for bread line
TFL also wants to signal the piccadilly line to increase the number of trains that can run in line.

Other options presented by the Reeves include funding of major “growth of bakery plots in South Lonesmead in Themesmead in South-East Lonesmead.
“I am encouraged by the positive discussions we have (about a financial settlement)… I hope we will get the necessary funds” the Lord says.
Government officials say they work with TFL in a longer settlement. The department for transport says: “The success of London transport network is important for the capital and economy in the UK.”
With the heathrow’s progress after Reeves said the government will return the project, the government has to say the government is required to upgraft the government when a third passage of transportation.
He said TFL should consider further services at Elizabeth Line written in Rail-Rail, which both run between going to the travelers in the air.

The creation of new Railroad links to South and West and roadways should also look, he added.
“TFL cannot be expected to expand its services to Heathrow other than our own money. We never have that funds available,” he said.
In a new TFL’s financial eruption, Yahweh said he expected passenger income lower than the financial prophecy.
He blames fewer people traveling than expected, and quotes economic environment and evidence showing many jobs made out than in London.
The latest TFL financial numbers, published in December, passenger passenger income of £ 5.3bn for 2024-25 years of finance, £ 200,000 without predicting.
“I think we should keep seeing how we can work with the owners of the more to encourage people to enter the city more often,” he said.
The comments of the Lord Echo London Sir Sadiq Khan, warning about climbing flexible work. This month Khan warned that the capital “unable” to become a city where “the center is released”.
However, TFL directs office-based staff in office of 50 percent only in time.
“I think a lot focuses when people need to be in the office depends on the sector you work with. If our network business has quit,” Lord said.
