Hulu came to play in February by adding lots of romantic commas to satisfy those subscribers who want to watch their favorite love stories on Valentine’s Day.
Because you probably have When Harry met Sally i beautiful woman on your binge list, Watch with us has put together a list of some movies you may have forgotten about or never heard of.
You can guess it from the title Clown in a corn field it’s not a rom-com, but it’s a pleasantly gory slasher that offers a huge body count.
If you fancy more adult fare, the Tina Fey– Directed comedy Date Night and the Helen Mirren drama The last station should satisfy that desire.
‘Clown in a Cornfield’ (2025)
Some movies have titles that are just too bad to resist. Clown in the cornfield is one of those movies, a horror movie about a group of teenagers who encounter, well, a clown in a cornfield. Hey, you can’t call the title dishonest.
When high school student Quinn Maybrook (Katie Douglas) moves to Kettle Springs, Missouri, is upset that she has to spend her senior year in such a small town. His spirits are lifted when he befriends a group of bored teenagers, who fill him in on a local legend involving a killer clown named Frendo who killed two teenagers in the early 1990s. This urban legend becomes a horrifying reality for Quinn and his friends when they encounter multiple Frendos in the present. Will Quinn make it out of the cornfield alive?
An indie horror hit last year, Clown in a corn field follows the great tradition of slasher films with killer clowns as antagonists. i like Funhouse i Killer klowns from outer spaceCornfield’s budget is low, but the body count is pretty high, which is all you need for a movie like this. It’s a better, bloodier nostalgic version of 80s horror than Eli Rothit’s disappointing Thanksgivingwith main characters you really care about.
Clown in a corn field it’s now streaming on Hulu.
‘Date Night’ (2010)
Valentine’s Day isn’t just for young lovers – older married couples need a little romance too! This is the central concept behind it Date Nightan entertaining rom-com action movie starring two of the biggest stars NBC has ever produced, Tina Fey i Steve Carell.
Phil and Claire Foster (Carell and Fey) are a long-married couple in need of some excitement. They get that and more when they impulsively impersonate another couple, the Tripplehorns, at a trendy Manhattan restaurant to snag a table. But instead of enjoying their expensive meal, they are approached by two crooked cops working for a local mobster. They believe the Fosters are the Tripplehorns and demand that they bring a flash drive containing incriminating evidence. Soon, the Fosters’ date night turns into a frantic and comical fight for their lives as they try to track down the real Tripplehorns to give the crowd what it wants.
date nightThe plot is deliberately far-fetched, and is really just an excuse to string together a series of comedic sequences with Phil and Claire getting into all sorts of trouble in New York City. That’s just fine when you have artists as talented as Carell and Fey leading the way, with an incredibly stacked supporting cast that includes Mark Ruffalo, Kristen Wiig, James Franco, Mila Kunis i Mark Wahlberg.
Date Night is streaming on Hulu.
‘The Last Station’ (2009)
It is 1910, and Leo Tolstoy (Christopher Plummer) is dying. The legendary Russian author has been ill for some time, but now he is very close to death and his affairs must be in order. His devoted wife, Sonya (Helen Mirren), doesn’t want him to sign a new will leaving all his private property, and his potentially lucrative royalties, to the Russian state. Tolstoy, however, does not believe in private property; he believes that this prevents him from attaining spiritual satisfaction. This is fine in theory, but Sonia has mouths to feed, including her own, and believes she has a legitimate claim to Tolstoy’s fortune.
The last station it’s a good old-fashioned chamber drama, with a relatively small cast, few locations, and a central conflict between Tolstoy and Sonia that’s captivating enough that you don’t need much else. Plummer and Mirren were nominated for Oscars for their performances, and deservedly so for their spirited work here. They bring Russian history to life and make their real-life historical figures flesh and blood, which is harder than it sounds.
