This February, Watch with us has picked three of the best drama movies to watch on the platform right now, and we’ve ranked them according to IMDb’s rating.
Our first pick is the new Netflix original The Rip, starring Matt Damon i Ben Affleck.

3. ‘The Rip’ (2026)
After receiving a tip about an address in a nearby city, Miami detectives Dane Dumars (Matt Damon), JD Byrne (Ben Affleck), Mike Ro (Steven Yeun), Numa Baptiste (Teyona Taylor) and Lolo Salazar (Caterina Sandino Moreno) head to the location expecting to find a deposit of a couple hundred thousand dollars. Instead, the cops find a massive, multi-million stash of drug cartel money hidden in giant buckets in the walls. But when the group’s leader, Dumars, doesn’t arrive at the warehouse quickly, suspicions arise and loyalties are tested as the group comes to believe that someone in their ranks is not who they seem.
The Rip is a gripping little crime drama produced by Affleck and Damon’s own artist equity company, who were able to negotiate a first-of-its-kind deal for his crew to receive a bonus if the film did well on Netflix. It did, resulting in not only a windfall for the hard-working crew, but another big win for a Netflix original production. The Rip it’s a very entertaining throwback that’s well-wound, twisted and well-acted by the talented cast.
2. “Saturday Night” (2024)
The first issue of Saturday night live the year 1975 has become the stuff of myths, and Saturday Night take this legend and imagine what really happened in the hours leading up to this pop culture-changing moment. Not surprisingly, it was a particularly tense period, in which producer Lorne Michaels (Gabriel LaBelle) had to contend with his talented cast of comics with larger-than-life personalities such as Chevy Chase (Cory Michael Smith), John Belushi (Matt Wood), Gilda Radner (Ella Hunt) i And Aykroyd (Dylan O’Brien).
While the cast of Saturday Night doesn’t necessarily nail the likenesses of the comic legends they’re portraying, they do a fantastic job of capturing their necessary essence through fully engaged performances. The frenetic, fast-paced direction that captures the chaos from which an icon was born, and the nostalgic fondness for one of comedy’s greatest eras makes Saturday Night a very funny and absorbing time capsule into the history of American entertainment.
1. ‘Red Rocket’ (2021)
When Mikey Saber (Simon Rex) fails to make it big as a porn star in Los Angeles, returns home to his roots in Texas City, Texas to take stock of his life. But Mikey’s got anything but his tail between his legs: he’s a charismatic con man, and he knows exactly what to say to make friends and family alike fall for his bullshit all over again.
Some people are more immune to his charms, like his ex-wife, Lexi (Bree Elrod), who has already been burned by Mikey too many times. But teenage Strawberry (Suzanne Son) falls in love with Mikey hook, line and sinker, and the middle-aged Mikey becomes romantically involved with her; another victim on his self-indulgent path of destruction.
Midway through this year, Netflix’s slate of original movies was largely disappointing and wildly uneven. Thankfully, it looks like Netflix saved its top-tier movies for the second half of 2025. Simon Rex and Suzanna Son at Red Rocket
A24 / Courtesy Everett CollectionMikey Saber is deplorable, degenerate, and a terrible person, and that’s exactly what makes him so interesting to watch. Through filmmaking and screenwriting, now director Sean Baker handicraft Red Rocket around a protagonist who is the worst of the worst and yet you somehow hate him and want him to succeed as much as he convinces himself that he will. In addition to flawed and colorful characters, Baker’s film evokes a lived-in quality through its production design and non-professional actors. Also, Rex’s performance is so fearless and flawless that it should have earned him an Oscar nomination.
