The videographer falls 50 feet from the scoreboard at Acrisure Stadium


A Pittsburgh worker suffered a catastrophic injury after falling 50 feet at Acrisure Stadium.

The horrible accident took place on Saturday, October 25, when a NBC Sports the videographer fell about 50 feet the steelers scoreboard a day before the team faced the Green Bay Packers. The videographer, who has not been publicly identified, collapsed around 10:00 p.m. while the game was being set up.

“At 10:00 p.m., EMS, fire and police responded to Acrisure Stadium for a worker who had fallen about 50 feet from the main scoreboard to a mid-level walkway. Rescue medics were able to reach him and bring him to safety.” the X account for Pittsburgh Public Safety noted early Sunday, Oct. 26. “He was taken to hospital in critical condition.”

The Daily Mail informed that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has opened an investigation into the incident.

“An incident occurred last night at Acrisure Stadium while the teams were preparing for the Sunday Night Football game,” a stadium spokesperson said in a statement. Us Weekly. “A crew member installing production equipment suffered a fall. The individual was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, and we are awaiting confirmation of the worker’s condition.”

KDKA News Reporter Ricky Sayer reported the incident on Saturday night. “So it looks like there’s kind of a fire department rescue scene going on right now,” he explained while reporting live from the stadium. “There’s a large number of crew members here from the Sunday Night Football broadcast team that we can see. And just a moment ago, what I saw was someone who looked injured who was thrown in a basket. That’s right behind the scoreboard here at Aperture Stadium. And what we can see here is below the scoreboard, there’s a structure that looked like on top. It looked like they were taking a person from there, putting them in that basket. They were taking them down. It appeared to be someone who is hurt.”

He added, “And there’s this police scene that’s going on here. We’ve reached out to Pittsburgh Public Safety to try to get specific information about what’s going on here. They haven’t gotten back to us yet. We’re keeping our distance from here right now, just like we’re still trying to figure out what exactly is going on there. And we’ve seen another person injured.”

Sayer followed up with an update shared through X sunday “A worker was injured when he fell 50 feet from the scoreboard at Acrisure Stadium last night, for Pittsburgh Public Safety,” he wrote. “Medics were able to get to him on a catwalk, stabilize him and get him into an ambulance. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.”

ABC7 Chicago also reported Monday, Oct. 27, that the man in question was “installing production equipment at the time of the incident.”

The game in question proved frustrating for the home team, who eventually lost 35-25 to their guests.
