The Syrian army entered the Al-Hol camp in northeastern Syria on Wednesday, which houses the families of suspected Islamic State (IS) fighters. The camp was previously guarded by Kurdish forces, who withdrew to defend other towns before a ceasefire deal with the Syrian army.
