During Sunday, November 30, chapter of the TLC reality showGarrick, 40, told the cameras that the “plural” family is actively looking for a third wife after he weds Brazil-born Lorrana in 2024. (The couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Sarah Mae, in July).
Garrick then took it a step further, telling his first wife, Dannielle, that she would have to legally marry the new addition to the family if they added a new wife from another country, citing Lorrana’s US citizenship status. (Garrick and Dannielle, who share three children, divorced in 2020 so Garrick could legally marry another woman; however, they remain together.)
“You know, if God had us meet another woman from another country, really our best option would be that Dannielle would have to get married so she would come here,” Garrick said in a confessional interview with his wives by his side, according to a clip released by Extra. “Only because we don’t know how long it will be before Lorrana and I can divorce and I can marry another woman.”

Dannielle appeared shocked by Garrick’s revelation, saying: “I wasn’t aware of it.”
“Yeah, he can get a green card, but then it takes five to ten years to become a citizen,” Garrick explained to Dannielle.
Dannielle then became teary-eyed as she said, “I feel like it’s more of a discussion that I think we need to have. Because I thought it was going to take a couple of years for their status to adjust and they could divorce,” referring to Garrick and Lorrana.
“I didn’t realize it would take this long and that this would be… you know, next year if we add someone, it’s up to me to marry them from another country,” she added.
Lorrana also expressed some concerns about Garrick’s desire to add a new wife to the plural marriage.
“I know we live in the plural, but right now, I don’t feel very comfortable looking for another woman right now because it’s so new to me,” Lorrana said using a translation app on her phone. “Having a baby and not spending much time with Gar worries me a bit.”
Garrick replied, “I definitely totally understand where you’re coming from and your feelings. I do. But we’re a plural family and I know it’s a call from God, and we have to be open to what He has. And whether that’s tomorrow or three months from now, I don’t know, but I know He’s in perfect control and we have to keep looking.”
“So for now, we’ll just have to keep our hearts and minds open to what God has,” he added.

According to TMZ, Lorrana contacted the police after Garrick allegedly threatened to call US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) about her during a discussion. Lorrana reportedly told officers that Garrick had taken her phone during the incident, preventing her from contacting her family in Brazil.
Garrick was released on bail after his arrest. He has not commented publicly on the charges against him.
