The fate of the French government hangs in the balance as MPs vote on a wealth tax




France could see another government fall as early as next week as lawmakers debated budget amendments on Saturday, including a possible new tax on France’s ultra-rich known as the “Zucman tax”. The centre-left Socialist Party has threatened to use its key election to topple the government if the wealth tax is not included in next year’s budget.
