A year after the success of Fox’s The OC, MTV took a look at the real city, launching Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County in 2004.
The reality show focused on the personal lives of high school students at the time Stephen Colletti, Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, The Bosworth and more Laguna Beach It was originally a high school drama, but was not allowed to film in the actual high school, meaning it was completely changed to focus on the cast’s home life.
Conrad led the first season as narrator, com the main story focused on a love triangle he met with Cavallari and Colletti. In Season 2, Conrad went off to college, with Cavallari taking over as narrator. When his season ended, a new group was introduced but fell through without the series’ original cast.
