teenage mother alum Kailyn Lowry is ready to spoil her 16-year-old son, Elliott Rivera, with a special gift.
“How old are you to drive? 🥺” Lowry, 33, asked her followers via Instagram on Sunday, February 1, alongside a video of the moment he surprised his eldest son with a car. “Watch the full video tonight at 8pm EST at Patreon.com/kaillowry 🤍.”
In a sneak peek of the big reveal, Elliott looked visibly surprised to be handed the keys to a new ride.
“There are surprises inside the car. Get in the driver’s seat because you’re a driver,” Lowry told Elliott before highlighting some of his extra gifts. “This has all the emergency supplies if you have an accident or need to scrape the ice off your car. If you need first aid, that’s it. And in the summer, when it’s hot, you can put it on the windshield so the car doesn’t get hot inside. I hope you like it. This is your car!”
Shortly after sharing the moment on social media, Lowry received messages of support from her teenage mother family
“We really broke the cycle Kail 🥹😭,” teenage mother‘s Tyler Baltierra he wrote in the comments section. “So proud of you and happy birthday to @isaacelliottr I love this! 👏🫶.”

Fans first got to know Lowry when he appeared on MTV’s second season 16 and pregnant in April 2010. At the time, the episode documented her pregnancy journey with her then-boyfriend Joe Rivera.
He later starred in the spin-off series Teenage mother 2 for 11 years before announcing in May 2022 that he was leaving the franchise to pursue other opportunities.

Since then, Lowry has continued to update fans on her family’s life through social media and her various podcasts.
In June 2025, Elliott made headlines of his own when he appeared on an episode of “Hardly famous” podcast and it opened about his sexuality.
“This is for me, and over time I’ve built up the courage to come out and let myself have my moment,” he shared, confirming that he is gay. “I’m so sick of people making up their own stories and putting things in their own words.”
Elliott, who was born Isaac Rivera, added, “I’m here today to show you who I am, not who you saw on TV for 12 years of my life.”
