To be fair, it’s not Kardashian’s fault she got dragged into the drama with Swift. She alone happened to be married a Kanye Westand defending her now ex-husband made things quite complicated.

In 2009, West infamously interrupted Swift’s VMAs acceptance speech, declaring that Beyoncé should have won that particular award. West later apologized, and everything seemed to be amicable, until 2016, when West dropped his Pablo’s life album

The album features the song “Famous,” in which West says, “I feel like Taylor and I could still have sex / Why? / I made that bitch famous.”

June 2016

Kardashian defended West’s “Famous” lyrics in her GQ interview

“She totally knew this was coming out,” Kardashian claimed. “I wanted to suddenly act like I didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much crap for things (when) he was actually doing the proper protocol and even called to approve it.”

Swift later argued that Kardashian’s account of what happened between her and West was “wrong,” claiming that she and West “only spoke once on the phone” about “Famous” in January 2016 and she “never denied that conversation.”

July 2016

Kardashian posted the pictures Swift and West’s phone call via Snapchat, with snake emojis. During the conversation, Swift seemed to only know the lyrics, “I feel like Taylor and I could still have sex,” which she signed. His biggest problem was with the “I made that bitch famous” part.

“Of course I wanted to like the song. I wanted to believe Kanye when he told me I’d love the song. I wanted us to have a friendly relationship. He promised to play the song for me, but he never did,” Swift posted after the video went public. “While I wanted to support Kanye on the phone call, you can’t ‘endorse’ a song you haven’t heard. To be falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or performed any part of the song is character assassination.”

March 2020

The full phone call between Swift and West was leaked online, proving that she really wasn’t aware of the “bitch” line.

When Swift was released Department of tortured poets: the anthologyincluded a song called “Thank you aIMee”, which appeared to be a reference to Kardashian as the capital letters spelled out KIM.

The lyrics paint the apparently fictional Aimee as a bully, which is how Swift has alluded to Kardashian in the past. Swift did, however, offer Aimee some credit at one point in the track.

“I can’t forgive the way you made me feel / Screamed ‘F—k you, Aimee’ into the night sky, as blood gushed,” he sings. “But I can’t forget the way you made me heal.”

January 2026

Kim confirmed she was listening to Swift’s music during an appearance on Sister Khloé Kardashianof “Khloé in Wonderland” podcast.

“Do you think people are surprised that you listen to Taylor Swift?” Khloé asked Kim. “I think people would be surprised.”

Kim replied: “I have some of her older songs on my playlist. I’ve always thought she was a great artist and very talented.”
