As Sydney recalled in her 2024 memoir, Far Beyond Gold: Running from Fear to FaithAndre initially messaged her based on a selfie that the runway star captioned: “Attention.”
Andre responded by writing, “You have my attention. How can I get yours?”

August 2021
A month after Sydney’s Olympic debut in Tokyo, Andre proposed while Sydney was on a girls’ trip to Arizona.
“I was very suspicious that it would just go in,” he recalled The Nus. “I wasn’t sure why.”
