Sweden investigates suspected of telecom telecoms


Sweden police investigated suspicious sabotage of an undersea telecom cable in the Baltic Sea, connecting Germany and Finland.

Subsequent Undersea cables and gas pipelines were damaged by suspected attacks since Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, NATO prompts to launch monitoring mission by the sea last month.

Sweden shores send a research container to the east of Detland, which is the largest island of the country and the reported location of the latest violation.

Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Krissson says government is known to break the cable and added it “should appear in the current security conditions”.

The owner of the cable, Finnish Telecom Operator Cinia, said it was found minor damage to fiber-optic cable but added this regularity.

Cinia also said this is the third time this cable is damaged in recent months.
