Police say suspected vance Luther Boelter was armed by the time he was arrested

The suspect accused of shooting a minnesota law and her husband in a gun rampage last week was a destruction “prepper”, according to the FBI.

The defendant’s wife, Vance Boelter, told investigators that the family was a small group of Americans “preparing for court incidents.

Boelter, 57, charged with the killing of democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and his husband, Mark, on Saturday.

He also seriously hurt the democratic state Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. Police say that there is evidence that he plans to focus on others.

Police arrested Mr. Boelter in the woods on Sunday after a day of manhunt.

His wife pulled at a time to stop traffic after shooting. He took their four children to stay with friends, according to investigators.

Jenny Boelter said his husband warned him of a message he had to flee, shown in documents.

“The text expresses something in effect they have to prepare for war, they need to go out of the house and people with guns, Terry Perthe, in an affidavit issued on Friday.

In his car, Investigators find about $ 10,000 in cash, passport and two guns. Mrs. Boelter was not charged with any crime.
