Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed a blistering 175 off just 80 balls to defeat England by 100 runs in the U-19 ODI World Cup final in Harare on Friday.
Suryavanshi, who had already created history by becoming the youngest player to score a century in the Indian Premier League, hit 15 fours and 15 sixes in his innings, which led to his final 151 off just 56 balls.

The left-handed opener eventually took India to 251-3 in the 26th over with England captain Thomas Reeve caught off the bowling of Manny Lumsden. They ended their 50 overs at 411-9.
Opener Ben Dawkins scored 66 and middle order batsman Caleb Falconer scored 115 off 67 balls.
Falconer was last man out, Khilan Patel took a brilliant catch as England scored 311 in 40.2 overs and India won their sixth title.
“I believed in my skills that I can contribute in big games, and that happened today,” said Suryavanshi, who was adjudged man of the match and player of the tournament, finishing with 439 runs in seven innings at 62.71.
Suryavanshi made his international debut at the age of 13 in 2024 when he scored a 58-ball century on his Under-19 debut against Australia.
Picked up by Rajasthan Royals, Suryavanshi announced himself on the world stage with a fearless first-ball six on his IPL debut.
Nine days later, he rallied the Gujarat Titans bowlers across the board as he scored the second-fastest century in the tournament’s history.
The teenager completed his century with 11 sixes and seven fours in 35 balls, surpassing only West Indies great Chris Gayle, who took 30 balls to reach his century in 2013.
