When Tunisian TV host Hassan becomes a full-time caregiver for his mother Saliha, who is dying of lung cancer, their visits to home and hospital become the backdrop for an intimate family love story. This observational documentary follows them through birthday celebrations, 4am medication, difficult medical consultations and quiet, emotional moments. Their bond gradually transcends traditional parent-child roles, as Hassan works tirelessly to maintain happiness, dignity, and a sense of normalcy for Saliha. As the cancer spreads and her chances dwindle, they are faced with impossible choices: cure versus comfort, hope versus honesty, a son’s devotion versus his mother’s weariness.
