
American coffee chain Starbucks has announced that it is forming a joint venture with asset management firm Boiu Capital in China, where the latter will have a 60 percent stake in the company’s local operations. China is Starbucks’ second largest market globally and has recently struggled with increased competition from local rivals such as Luckin Coffee.
