Saturday night live alum Terry Sweeney predicts the new CNN documentary won’t get made Chevy Chase look your best
before I’m Chevy Chase and you’re not premiered Thursday, Jan. 1, Sweeney, 75, was asked about some of the stories in the doc, including the alleged abuse he suffered as an adult.
“Boohoo…poor f*cked kid,” he shared with Sweeney The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Tuesday, December 30. “So that’s why he’s so rotten!!!!!!!”
In the documentary, seen by The Hollywood Reporter before its release, director Marina Zenovich also looked back at the alleged feud between Sweeney and Chase, 82, a Saturday night live.

“You said something to Sweeney like, ‘Oh, you’re the gay guy.’ Why don’t we ask you if you have AIDS? And every week we weigh you in,” Zenovich said in the document.
Chase responded to the document, “Terry Sweeney, he was so funny, that guy. I don’t think he’s alive anymore.”
While talking to The Hollywood ReporterSweeney confirmed he is alive and responded to the documentary. “Don’t think he’s saying that and making himself look like more of an ass than he is!!!” he said in the post.

In the oral history, Sweeney recounts how Chase came into his dressing room and apologized for the AIDS joke, but was “furious that he had to apologize to me.”
In the documentary, Chase responded, “My memory is that he’s lying, it’s my memory. He’s not telling the truth. It’s not me. It’s not who I am. And if I am, my life has changed, because I have to live with that now for the rest of my fucking life.”

When reacting to Chase’s comments in the documentary, Sweeney replied, “Everything rightly reflects on him!”

Chase, as well as some family members and former co-workers, participated in the documentary that “cuts through the legend to reveal the complicated man beneath the smile.”
A co-star who seems uninterested in the documentary is community actress Yvette Nicole Brown.
Chevy Chase was part of the inaugural season of Saturday Night Live, but the actor’s time on the comedy show was rather short-lived. Days before the CNN premiere I’m Chevy Chase and you’re notBrown, 54, apparently tackled the project. (According to The Hollywood ReporterBrown and her community cast members did not participate in the documentary.)

I’ve never had a problem speaking out when it’s warranted or when I think it will change a wayward mind or some truly disgusting behavior,” she wrote via Instagram on Monday, December 29. “When I choose NOT to talk about something, it’s usually because it won’t change anything, and more importantly, because it’s most likely unpleasant, low-vibrating, or idiotic, and therefore beneath me.”
