Sister Wives star Mykelti Padron (née Brown) is addressing the backlash from parents over her road trip post on social media.
Padron, 29, hit back at criticism she faced after mom-shaming allowing him three children — daughter Avalon and twin sons Archer and Ace — to use iPads to pass the time during a four-hour car ride.
The TLC alum she said she was inundated with so many messages leading up to her decision that she felt compelled to speak out about the matter. “I hate it when I’m judged for how I raise my kids,” she said in a video uploaded on Thursday, January 8. “Recently I’ve gotten serious hateful comments. I’ve actually gotten hateful direct messages, a lot. A lot. And it’s because I gave my kids iPads.”
The reality star explained that her family was on their way to visit her younger sister Ysabel when she and husband Antonio Padrón let them use their devices.

“I feel like we’re adults, that’s exactly what we do: we get on our phones while we’re driving,” Mykelti added. “You know, I’m a passenger princess.”
Mykelti concluded her message: “I don’t like being judged as harshly as a mother for trying to entertain my children.”
She aptly captioned her post, “Cut the mom shaming in 2026.”

After watching the clip, several fans supported her in the comments section.
“Really? Who isn’t giving their kids an iPad or smartphone in the drives?” one wrote in his defense. “You don’t owe anyone an explanation. We’re all here surviving and doing the best we can,” said another social media user.
“They’re texting you hateful comments… FROM THEIR PHONE. It’s ridiculous. I’ll never understand other moms’ iPad hate,” agreed a third person.

“Every time I talk about moving to my mom, it breaks her heart a little bit more. She’s so sad. She’s so broken,” Mykelti shared. “She’s very sad because she’s definitely going to miss a lot of the years that my kids are young.”
The cross-country move was a decision Mykelti and Tony made as he worked toward his career goals. the couple has been married since December 17, 2016 and will celebrate their 10th anniversary later this year.
“It’s the chess capital of the USA,” he said. “I’m someone who works in chess and makes content and teaches and coaches. For me, moving out there is really exciting because that’s like the center.”
