Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is clarifying key details about the disappearance of Savannah Guthriethe mother, Nancy Guthrie.
Authorities held a news conference Thursday, Feb. 5, a day after Savannah, 54, and her siblings: annie i Cameron Guthrie — shared an emotional video about his mother’s whereabouts.
“We saw last night, the family, you know, they’re just hurting. It’s understandable. And so, I really want you to know, the whole team here, the ones behind me and our community are hurting with you. We just want her back,” Nanos said Thursday. “Right now, we think Nancy is still out there. We want her home.”
Nancy, 84, was reported missing in Arizona on Sunday, February 1, after she failed to show up for church. She was last seen on Saturday, January 31.

Nanos said at a news conference Monday, Feb. 2, that police had “some concerns” about what was found at Nancy’s home, which is considered a crime scene. When asked if authorities suspected foul play, Nanos said they are “not ruling it out.”

The sheriff added that there were “things” about the scene at Nancy’s home that led authorities to believe: “This lady is in danger.”

The timeline reveals new clues
Nancy was last seen on January 31st. She traveled to a family dinner via uber around 5:32 pm local time and was dropped off at her home by the family at 9:48 pm. Authorities were able to confirm that the garage door was locked at 9:50 p.m. (Nanos previously said we that Annie was the last person who saw his mother before being reported missing.)
At 1:57 am on February 1, Nancy’s doorbell camera went offline. Later, at 2:12 am, the software detected something on the camera, but the images are not available. Nanos said Thursday that the movement could have been an animal.
Around 2:28 a.m., Nancy’s pacemaker app showed that she was disconnected from her phone.
When were the police called?
Nancy’s family called 911 around 12:03 a.m. on February 1st. The patrol arrived soon after and began the search and rescue protocol.

Has blood been found on the property?
Then previously denying reports that the blood was found near the front door of Nancy’s home, Nanos confirmed Thursday that the blood on the porch “went back to Nancy” after being tested.
Were there signs of forced entry?
Nanos denied Thursday that there was evidence of a forced entry into Nancy’s home, saying, “I have no idea where that’s coming from.”
Are there any suspects?
Nanos reiterated during the press conference that there are no suspects or people interested in Nancy’s disappearance. “We’re doing everything we can to do that … (but) we’re not there yet,” he said, before implying that “everyone remains a suspect in our eyes.”
Is there a ransom note?
special agent Heath Janke he confirmed it the FBI is “aware” of a ransom note which was sent to local and national media, noting that “any action taken on any rescue is ultimately decided by the family.” Janke also revealed that an arrest was made for a “fraudster” who was trying to “profit” from the case with a fake, separate ransom note.
Is there a reward for finding Nancy?
Janke revealed that a $50,000 reward is being offered. police previously announced a reward of “up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons involved in the disappearance,” according to social media.
