Sheffield Wednesday handed an additional six-point deduction for breaching EFL regulations after entering administration | Football news



The English Football League took another six points away from Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls were stripped of 12 points on October 24 after filing for administration.

The club is currently at the bottom of the championship table and now has -10 points.

A statement from the EFL said: “Sheffield Wednesday will be deducted six points with immediate effect for multiple breaches of EFL regulations relating to payment obligations, with the club’s former owner, Mr Dayfon Chancery, banned from being an owner or director of any EFL club for a period of three years.”

“The sanctions against both the club and Mr. Chansiri can be confirmed after the parties reach an agreement on the appropriate sanctions, subsequently ratified by the chairman of the appointed independent disciplinary committee.”
