Shannen Dohertyher ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko is fighting the late actress’ estate over claims she is owed money two years after her death, Us Weekly can report exclusively.
On Wednesday, Jan. 14, Iswarienko’s attorney filed court documents alleging that the allegations regarding the divorce settlement, which he signed with Doherty days before her death, were filed in the wrong court.
Doherty died on 13 July 2024, aged 53, after a long battle against cancer. She signed the divorce agreement on July 12, 2024, and Iswarienko signed it on July 13, 2024. The divorce agreement was filed with the court on July 15, 2024.
In his new filing, Iswarienko claims the divorce case should have been finalized when Doherty died on July 13. He believes the divorce settlement should never have been filed and that the court lacks jurisdiction to enforce the terms of the settlement.
The argument comes weeks later we first reported that Doherty’s estate claims Iswarienko has breached the terms of the settlement.
The estate claimed that under the divorce settlement, Iswarienko was required to list a home in DrIpping Springs, Texas. The petition claimed he had not listed the four-bedroom, four-bathroom home, which is worth an estimated $1.5 million. The Doherty estate believes it is owed a cut of the house.
The filing also accused Iswarienko, who is a photographer, of handing over a list of his artwork and returning property owned by enchanted actress
