Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler have been shortlisted for PGA Tour Player of the Year, and Tommy Fleetwood and Ben Griffin are also in the running for the Jack Nicklaus Award.
The PGA Tour named Scheffler and McIlroy – two of the world’s best – among its four-man shortlist after both enjoyed great success and multiple victories this season, with Fleetwood and Griffin making their first appearances.
The Player of the Year award is determined by member voting, with PGA Tour members who have played in at least 15 events during the 2025 season eligible to vote. Voting ends on December 12, and the winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
Scheffler is the favorite to win the Jack Nicklaus Award for the fourth consecutive season, having won six events and finished just outside the top 10 in three of the 20 tournaments played.
The world No. 1 won the CJ Cup, the PGA Championship and the Memorial in a four-event streak, then completed the third career Grand Slam with a four-shot victory at the Royal Portrush Open.
Scheffler also won the BMW Championship in August and kicked off the FedExCup autumn campaign by winning the Procore Championship in California, with the 29-year-old also receiving the Byron Nelson Award for low points average.
McIlroy won his opening PGA Tour of the season at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, then defeated JJ Spawn in a playoff to win The Players a month later, before completing a career Grand Slam with a dramatic victory at the Masters.
Griffin teamed up with Andrew Novak to win the Zurich Classic in New Orleans before adding the Charles Schwab Challenge and the Tech World Championship, with the American also earning a spot on Team USA’s Ryder Cup team in an impressive campaign.
Fleetwood picked up his long-awaited first PGA Tour victory at the season-ending Tour Championship, securing the FedExCup title, and the Englishman also finished runner-up at the Travelers Championship and has since moved to a career-high No.3.
What about Rookie of the Year?
The five nominees for the 2025 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Arnold Palmer Award have also been announced, with Michael Brennan, Stephen Fisk, William Moe, Aldrich Potgieter and Carl Phillips on the shortlist after all winning events over the past year.
Brennan became just the seventh player to win on the PGA Tour in his first three starts, claiming victory in the Bank of Utah Championship with a sponsor’s exemption, while Fisk won the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Mouve won the ISCO Championship and Potgieter was the only rookie to reach the FedExCup playoffs, having won the Rocket Classic earlier in the campaign, and Willips completed the shortlist after success at the Puerto Rico Open.
