Lindsey Barrow, the wife of the late Rob Barrow, was set up to launch a London marathon in his memory this year, calling him “the path of love, loss and resistance”.
Leeds Rhinos Great Barrow died in June 2024. years old 41, five years after the diagnosis of motor neurone diseases.
Burrow and his former team Mother Matter Kevin Sinfield launched more than 15 million pounds for MD charities through fundraising and campaigns.
“Starting London marathon after he lost my husband, goods, motor neurone diseases is not just a physical challenge. It is a deep personal journey of love, loss and resistance,” she said.
“While I leaning my shoes, I take my mind of my beloved wife, a slave. His strength in the face of MND inspires me to press me outside my borders and find the purpose in the middle of my loss.
“This marathon is not just a tribute to his amazing struggle, but also the celebration of love we have shared and the memories we have created.
“Every mile I run is a testament to his lasting legacy, a reminder that even in the darkest times we can find a purpose and hope.
“I’m running for him; for all those affected by this disease; and for a belief we can make a difference together.”
Lindsey will bump in London marathon with his brother 27. April to continue raising money for charities for Leeds Hospital and Leeds Rhinos Foundation.
Lindsey, 41, ordered in the inaugural Rob Barrow Leeds Marathon in 2023. years and Yorkshire Marathon last year.
