Danny Rohl won his first league game in charge of Rangers with a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Ibroke.
Rangers’ first Premiership win of the season gave Rollo a dream start to life in Scotland after suffering a 3-0 Europa League defeat at Bran in his first match in charge in midweek.
But the German got the perfect response from his new side when Derek Cornelius headed home James Tavernier’s free-kick in the 15th minute.
The Ibrox crowd then chanted Rolle’s name, but the positive mood was marred when Rangers keeper Jack Butland made a mistake at a corner and allowed George Stanger to finish into an empty net after the Englishman had missed his shot completely.
Butland’s opposite number, Eddie Beach, almost made an even bigger mistake as his drop-kick hit Cornelius and bounced across the defense for Bojan Miovski to head into an empty net, but VAR ruled the shot offside.
The home team managed to regain their lead just six minutes after half-time, when Danilo’s header, after an excellent cross from Jayden Meghoma, crashed against the post.
Just six minutes later, Butland made amends for his first-half mistake with a superb one-handed save to stop Bruce Anderson’s header from the bottom corner.
Substitute Youssef Cermiti then scored his first Rangers goal since joining the club in a £10million deal from Everton with a 72nd-minute strike that Beach should have kept out.
Rangers were denied a fourth late on as Nicholas Raskin’s goal was ruled out for offside.
A win in Rollo’s first home game moves Rangers up to fifth, 13 points behind leaders Hearts, while Kilmarnock drop to eighth.
